The George Hilton Panorama of Hong Kong

Circa 1904

Created in 1904 by British military Photographer George Hilton and featuring the China Squadron at anchor this is without any doubt, following its extensive restoration, the best panoramic photograph ever taken of Hong Kong capturing almost every single part of the North of Hong Kong Island and all of Kowloon in microscopic detail.

The Hong Kong Coronation Panorama

Circa 1953

In 1953 Queen Elizabeth the second saw her coronation celebrated in colonial outposts globally. This unique view from Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon of the Hong Kong Island and its skyline reaches from the now demolished tower of Tiger Balm Gardens to the bustling waterfront of Eastern. Not surprisingly given the political landscape at the time the Bank of China building in Central sits in darkness.

Hong Kong Harbour Night and Day Panoramas

By Elizabeth Keith

Circa 1924

This is an exceptional actual size reproduction of an Elizabeth Keith original from 1924.

Only one Japanese style panoramic image of the Hong Kong Harbour was made by her as a woodblock print; produced by Watanabe. Originals are very rare, expensive and almost impossible to find easily. Print editions were very small and the originals were dated 1924.

The daytime version has hardly ever been seen and originals of it by Elizabeth Keith may number just a handful worldwide; it is such a rare image that it does not even appear in her “catalog raisonne”.
