The George Hilton Panorama of Hong Kong

Circa 1904

Overlooking Central

This "feature print" shows Queen’s road Central, Hong Kong built by The Royal Engineers and dedicated to Queen Victoria of England in 1842. Spanning Victoria City from Shek Tong Tsui to Wan Chai. It shows the original shoreline of Hong Kong island before any land reclamation projects began. Also clearly visible in this feature print is the St. John’s Cathedral. Built in 1847 dedicated to St. John the Evangelist. The cathedral still stands proudly today on the busy Garden Road.

The video below zooms into certain parts of this feature print from the Hong Kong Panorama showing the vast amount of detail which just can’t be seen on the preview picture.
